This week for Do-It-Yourself I want to talk about Creative Clans CCSlideShow.

Earlier this week I was looking for an inexpensive or free slide show tool. I needed something that had smooth transitions and XML based configuration. I found that and more.

CCSlideShow is one of the best free tools I have seen in a while. The feature-set is rich, the design is smooth, the flexibility is strong, the configuration easy, and the setup a snap.

Another sweet feature in CCSlideShow is its ability to morph into any height and width. In my case I needed something 720 pixels wide x 300 pixels high. I was afraid that all the free tools would be restricted to particular height and width. Not in this case. By setting the embed parameters I was able to instantly change the sizing. Then I just sized my pictures in photoshop and I was off to the races. (See my CCSlideshow implementation at www.revelationcounseling.com.)

At this point I might normally talk about setup instructions for this tool, but the makers of CCSlideshow did such a good job documenting, there is nothing more to do. Just look for the CCSS documentation text file and find the installation section.
